The mission of TMF is to empower veterans and families of the fallen to develop character in future generations. First Lieutenant Travis Manion was a man of integrity, valor, and commitment. During his second tour in Iraq, Travis was killed by a sniper’s bullet on April 29, 2007, while helping a fellow wounded Marine. Before Travis left for his second and final deployment in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom, he explained why he had to return to the war in five simple words: “If Not Me, Then Who…” These words have inspired a national movement that is growing rapidly. “If Not Me, Then Who…” First Lieutenant Travis Manion, USMC Through character-driven programming, veterans, and families of the fallen do more than serve their nation. We empower them to strengthen it, to reshape it, to push our communities to be better version of themselves. Every year, thousands in the TMF community come together at events across the country to unite communities, share the legacy of character of fallen heroes and spread the “If Not Me, Then Who…” movement. Last week GVA team members, advisors, and colleagues came together with hundreds of TMF Spartans on a beautiful Monday to remember and honor First Lieutenant Manion at the 16th Annual Memorial Golf Outing at Doylestown Country Club in Doylestown, PA.
